Hi. My name is Eren! I am a beginner violinist and I share my new violin pieces on my blogs. Today's piece is "Up The Mountain". Actually, this piece is one of the Trinity violin exam pieces and the reason I am studying this piece is because I want to take the exam in the Trinity method. This piece may be shorter than the others, but I liked the melody the most and it gave me the pleasure of playing the violin. On the name of the piece, I think this piece's melody is like climbing up a mountain and then coming down. Seriously, when I was playing it, I started to feel like I was really going up the mountain. However I can easily say that this piece is not an emotional piece. This piece is faster than most of the pieces and absolutely examining my bow handling skills. And I would say that my favorite part of this piece is the finale. In the finale I feel more professional and I feel like I can do vibrato. But there are also things I don't like very much in this piece. The track is more high-pitched, and for beginners like me, this makes the sound distorted. If I need to criticize myself, I could improve my bow grip a bit more because sometimes I lose control when I switch to other strings.
Overall, I liked the piece. Even though it was difficult for me as a beginner to play high-pitched sounds, I think this piece improved me because it was a piece that I practiced a lot. I hope I will be successfull in my violin exam🙏
So if I have to rate this piece, I will rate this piece: 6/10
