Getting Started Learning German

Hello, after much consideration, I have decided to study in Germany, so I am starting to learn German. I realised that I needed to draw up a plan in order to start making progress in German and to be able to progress at the ideal pace. With this in mind, I devised a plan outlining the most sensible way to make progress in German, covering all four skills: grammar, listening, reading, speaking and writing.

Although it isn’t a particularly comprehensive plan, I’ve decided that it makes sense to start with grammar and then move on to listening exercises as part of my learning process. I believe that by having these two areas support one another, it will be easier for me to improve my writing and reading skills as well. I intend to keep going with this plan as long as it remains sustainable, and I’ve set myself the goal of reaching C1 level in German—I’m determined to achieve it.
