Hello, this summer I participated in Boğaziçi University’s summer school program in Istanbul, and I’d like to share my expectations before the program and my experiences during it.

First of all, I can say that the most impressive thing was the campuses. The beautiful gardens and the historic buildings, which looked like works of art, were amazing. A friend from my school and I decided to go there together and chose our courses.

I took six courses because I want to study computer science. I selected six different courses, and since I want to study computer science, the courses I chose were mostly in the field of computer science. I really liked the professors’ teaching styles and the curriculum, and found them very effective because I gained a great deal of important knowledge related to artificial intelligence, which is the field I hope to work in in the future. Examples of this include how artificial intelligence fundamentally generates responses, as well as artificial neural networks and decision trees.

In addition to the classes, I had the chance to meet a lot of new people. I got to know many of the kids who came to the program with me, and we formed a really great group of friends—about eight or nine of us. We made some wonderful memories along the way and even took barista classes together at the end of each day. Attending summer school for two weeks—even during a particularly stifling part of the summer vacation—was a wonderful experience for me.

I’d like to say that this experience has been very meaningful to me and that I’ve had a lot of fun. If you ever get the chance, I’d highly recommend it. Thank you all so much for reading this far and following along with my posts. Take care, and I’ll see you in my next blog posts. Bitte!
